Sole on Ice
Royal College of Art, 2006
These ice skates don't need a frozen surface to function effectively, for the ‘slippery’ component is embodied in their construction: the soles being made from ice. Therefore they can be used for skating on all sorts of smooth surfaces—so they actually work as a kind of ‘multi environment leisure enhancer’, adding a dash of colourful guerrilla play power to even the greyest urban environment. These ‘soles on ice’ can be re-created infinitely, simply by putting them in the freezer over night.
